Claire spent much of her Thanksgiving holiday sleeping in the swing or cuddling with her Aunt Heher (Heather in Brenden words). She slept well overnight both nights...so I can't complain, she's just a mellow little girl.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday out in Sequim at G-mama and Papa's house. Brenden was able to play with many toys that my sisters and I played with as kids including a Ernie doll that is somewhere between 30 and 35 years old! He had a great time entertaining all of us with his cute antics and hysterical animal sounds. For such a active and loud little boy, his animal sounds are rather quiet making it all the funnier.

Claire-week 6 pictures

It's hard to believe the little princess is already 6 weeks old. We went in for her hip ultrasound on Friday and learned that she definitely does not have hip dysplasia like Brenden did...so we are very happy and relieved to get that ruled out so quickly. As far as we can tell, she's a happy healthy little girl with no signs of reflux at this point, but we are keeping an eye on that just in case. Last night our little girl slept from 12:45 am until 9:15 this am without waking up even once. I was shocked when Brenden is the one that woke us up at 8:45 and we discovered how long we'd been sleeping uninterrupted. I doubt this will happen again tonight, but here's to hoping! Brenden didn't sleep for more than 3-4 hour at a time until he was 5 months old.

Claire started smiling at us around 3 weeks...but Brenden gets the most smiles out of her now. He's a great big brother and helps her when she loses her pacifier and puts blankets on her while she's swinging. He also loves trying to pat her back and help burp her. We love that he's so interested in her (in a positive way).

Our sweet little girl put my fears to rest this evening as I suddenly realized we hadn't had a "poopie" in 24 hours...sorry for the graphic picture you may see below...but if I had to deal with this, you have to hear about it...and have the visual image as well. I'm just glad I was holding her when she did this and avoided it getting anywhere else!

Ignore the little red spots all over her face in the pictures, she's got a lovely case of baby acne which I'm assured will go away sometime between 3 and 6 months. I'll take acne over reflux any day of the week thank you!!!
